The Venezuelan government has just launched an eVisa system for foreign nationals travelling to Venezuela, including American and Canadian citizens.

This new system eliminates the need for in-person processes – a big step forward for those who previously had to travel internationally to access a Venezuelan embassy. It is now possible to receive your visa right in your email inbox!

Who is Eligible for a Tourist eVisa to Venezuela?

Many nationalities, including all EU member states, do not need a visa to visit Venezuela for tourism. To check whether you need a visa, check Venezuela’s visa policy.

The new eVisa is being rolled out for travellers who require a tourist visa to visit Venezuela, starting with American and Canadian citizens. If you are from another country that requires a visa to visit Venezuela, please contact us for the latest information. We will update this blog as more information comes to light.

    • Your name must match your passport, including middle names.
    • You may provide a hotel name and address in Venezuela, even if you do not yet have a confirmed booking.
    • You may provide any legitimate flight details, even if you do not yet have a confirmed booking.

  • Register for an account on the Venezuela Ministry of Foreign Affairs official portal.
    • Fill the first two fields as follows: “Tipo de usuario”: EXTRANJERO. “Tipo de persona”: NATURAL.
    • If you are not born in the country of your passport nationality, select your passport nationality anyways for “país de nacimiento” (country of birth). Do not enter your country of birth even though your passport states a different country.
  • Verify your email: You will receive an email from “Cancilleria Digital”, click on the button in the email and it will verify your email address. Make sure to check your spam if you do not find the email in your inbox. It may take up to a few hours to receive this email.

    • For telephones, you can enter the same number for both “fijo” (landline) and “celular” (mobile).

    • The family details (“Grupo Familiar”) part is optional.

    • Fill in all required fields. Many will already be filled with the information you provided in the initial registration.
    • Upload the 3 required documents; passport-style photo, passport, and the application form (filled out as instructed above). You may upload these as PNG or JPEG images, or PDF documents.
