Women & Travel – Empowering the Future

While many industries are still male-dominated, we take active responsibility for addressing gender inequality within our operations. We are proud to say that women make up a large part of our home team and our local partners around the world. The truth is, we couldn’t do what we do without them–and we wouldn’t want to.

We are committed to continue creating opportunities for women through our work, with the aim that more women will have better access to employment, security, and equitable salaries. The women we work with also make our tours more inclusive, allowing female travellers to experience unique and inspiring destinations. Through our efforts, we strive to empower women in the tourism industry, support female guides, and pave the way for more female travellers in off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Local Women as Guides

In many of the destinations we visit, opportunities for women in tourism are limited. That’s why we actively seek out female guides, giving them a platform to share their expertise and stories. This not only creates meaningful employment opportunities but also challenges stereotypes and promotes gender equality. When you travel with CultureRoad, you support these incredible women and their contributions to their communities.

Girls School in Minawar, Pakistan

We take supporting local community initiatives as a responsibility we have as travellers. One of the initiatives we support is the Outliers Secondary School (OLSS) in Minawar, Pakistan. This project provides vulnerable girls with access to free education in an area where schooling for girls has long been out of reach. With financial support and the opportunity for you to volunteer for a day, we are helping this inspiring school continue its mission. Want to know more about it? Read our blog post here.

Zero Tolerance for Sexual Exploitation

We stand firmly against all forms of exploitation and harassment. We make sure our guests are informed about local laws and customs related to these issues and provide guidance on how to contribute to the prevention and reporting of incidents. We firmly believe everyone, regardless of age or gender, has the right to feel safe and respected when traveling. That’s why our tours emphasise safety, respect, and awareness, ensuring we travel ethically.
