Itinerary
Day 1 – 23 December – Baghdad
- Transfer to Baghdad.
- Exchange money on the local market (if necessary).
- Meet the group.
- Overnight stay in Baghdad.
Day 2 – 24 December – Baghdad
- Visit to the Al-Mutanabbi street, which is the heart of Baghdad literacy.
- We check out Al-Mustansariya School, known as the oldest school in the world.
- Stroll through the adjacent copper market Al Safafeer.
- Highlight: Visit the Iraq Museum and explore the rich history of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilization.
- Stop at Tahir and Firdos square.
- Al Shaheed monument, an impressive tribute to the victims of wars.
- Victory Arch the famous ‘Hands of Victory’ monument.
- Overnight stay in Baghdad.
Day 3 – 25 December – Baghdad – Samarra – Hatra – Mosul
- Drive to North Iraq passing multiple villages returning to life after the destruction ISIS had left behind.
- Stop at Abu Graib.
- Highlight: Explore the UNESCO sites of Hatra, a Parthian trade hub that thrived until its destruction in 241 CE.
- Arrivel in Mosul.
- Overnight stay in Mosul.
Day 4 – 26 December – Mosul – Bakhdida – Erbil
- Highlight: Discover the reconstructed Al-Nuri Mosque, Mosul’s iconic landmark with its once-leaning minaret, destroyed by ISIS and known as the site where Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the so-called caliphate.
- Visit the Al Tahira Church, the largest church of Iraq.
- Stop by the Church square.
- End of tour.
