Thursday 25 February – Bangui (CAR)
Coming from our Gabon Highlights Tour? We recommend arriving in Bangui via a direct flight from Libreville with FlyGabon.
Upon arrival at Bangui M’Poko International Airport, our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
The remainder of the day is free to relax after your journey, exchange currency if needed, or enjoy a first glimpse of life in the capital.

Friday 26 February – Bangui – Mbaiki
After breakfast, we leave Bangui behind and head south towards the forests of the Lobaye Region. Here we spend time with members of the Ba’Aka community, one of Central Africa’s most fascinating indigenous peoples. Through cultural exchanges and shared experiences, we gain insight into their traditional way of life, deep knowledge of the rainforest and the customs that have been preserved for generations.
After our return to Bangui, we spend the afternoon exploring the capital city. Situated on the banks of the Oubangui River, Bangui offers a unique introduction to daily life in the Central African Republic. We visit the Boganda National Museum and the Notre-Dame Cathedral before wandering through the lively Central Market, where traders from across the country gather to sell their goods.
Our exploration continues through PK0, the symbolic centre of the nation, past monuments, artisan workshops and local craft areas. Along the riverfront and in the city’s neighbourhoods, we experience the vibrant atmosphere of Bangui and gain a deeper understanding of life in one of Africa’s least-visited capitals.
To conclude the day, we enjoy a traditional cultural performance and exchange with members of the Banda community, offering a colourful introduction to the music, dance and traditions of one of the country’s largest ethnic groups.

Saturday 27 February – Bangui – Boali
This morning, we depart for Boali, home to the most spectacular natural landmark in the Central African Republic.
Upon arrival, we visit the impressive Boali Falls, where the Mbali River plunges dramatically over a series of cliffs, creating one of the country’s most remarkable natural sights. Depending on the season, the falls can be particularly powerful and provide spectacular views over the surrounding landscape. We take time to explore the viewpoints, enjoy the scenery and learn about the nearby hydroelectric facilities that supply much of the country’s electricity.
After lunch near the falls, we return to Bangui.
In the late afternoon, we head to the banks of the Oubangui River, one of Central Africa’s great waterways and the natural border between the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Depending on river conditions and group preference, we board either a motorboat or a traditional canoe for a relaxing journey as the sun sets over the river and life unfolds along both banks.

Sunday 28 February – Bangui
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a relaxed morning before transferring to Bangui M’Poko International Airport for your onward journey.
