Day 1 – Kampala –  Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your local guide before beginning the journey to the remote Pian Upe Game Reserve, Uganda’s second-largest protected area. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery as we travel through rolling hills, fertile farmland and traditional villages towards the country’s less-visited northeast.

The highlight of the day is an evening game drive through Pian Upe, a vast wilderness of open savannah and rocky outcrops. Keep an eye out for zebras, elands, oribis, buffaloes, ostriches and, with a bit of luck, cheetahs, one of the reserve’s most iconic residents.

Day 2 – Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve – Moroto

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Pian Upe Game Reserve, when wildlife is at its most active. Keep an eye out for zebras, buffaloes, elands, antelopes, ostriches and, if we’re lucky, even cheetahs roaming the vast savannah.

Afterwards, we continue our journey to Moroto, the cultural heart of Uganda’s Karamoja region. The highlight of the day is a visit to the traditional manyattas of the Karimojong people. These fortified homesteads, built from wood, clay and thatch, offer a fascinating insight into one of East Africa’s most distinctive pastoral communities. We’ll learn about their traditions, daily life and way of living in this remote corner of Uganda.

Day 3 – Moroto – Tepeth community

Today we travel deeper into the foothills of Mount Moroto, enjoying scenic views of the rugged Karamoja landscape as we make our way to the remote Tepeth community. The journey itself offers a wonderful glimpse into rural life in one of Uganda’s least-visited regions.

The highlight of the day is an authentic overnight stay with the Tepeth people. This unique experience provides a rare opportunity to learn about their traditions, way of life and close connection to the surrounding mountains. As evening falls, we’ll share stories, enjoy traditional songs and dances, and experience the warm hospitality of our hosts.

Day 4 – Tepeth community – Moroto

Wake up to the sounds of the mountains and experience the Tepeth breakfast ritual, offering one final glimpse into the daily life and traditions of this remarkable community before saying goodbye to your hosts.

After breakfast, we return to our lodge near Moroto. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You may choose to take a walk through a nearby village, explore the surrounding countryside and learn more about life in the Karamoja region, or simply relax at the lodge and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

Day 5 – Moroto – Mbale

Today we leave the Karamoja region behind and travel south to the beautiful Sipi Falls, nestled on the foothills of Mount Elgon. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes as we descend from the rugged northeast into Uganda’s lush eastern highlands.

The highlight of the day is a guided hike to the spectacular Sipi Falls, a series of three waterfalls cascading through dramatic cliffs and green countryside. Following scenic trails, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys while learning more about the local communities and the area’s renowned Arabica coffee production. Depending on the water levels and conditions, there may also be an opportunity to cool off in the refreshing pools near the falls.

Day 6 – Mbale – Entebbe

Today we journey back to Entebbe, enjoying one final drive through Uganda’s beautiful countryside. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time to relax on the shores of Lake Victoria, where you can unwind at one of the lakeside beaches or cafés before your departure.

At the appropriate time, we transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
