Itinerary
Thursday 19 September – N’Djamena – Ngueli
- Arrival in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad with an airport pick up.
- Meet the others at 15.00 in the hotel for a short briefing.
- Drive to Ngueli, at the border with Cameroon.
- Highlight: Enjoy the surroundings of the Walliya district at the Logone river.
- Return to N’Djamena.
- Overnight stay in N’Djamena.
Friday 20 September – N‘Djamena – Hajer Lamis – Douguiya
- We leave N’Djamena and cross the desert plains to Hajer Lamis. This area is close to Lake Chad and a spot were many nomads are.
- Highlight: Upon arrival you’ll see Elephant Rock, a big stone mass in the form of an elephant!
- Drive to Douguiya, an old hunting camp next to the Chari river.
- Overnight stay in N’Djamena.
Saturday 21 September – N’Djamena – Koundoul – Gaoui
- Highlight: In the morning we’ll start our city tour of N’Djamena, highlights include: the Cathedral, Great Mosque, National Museum and the artisanal center.
- We visit the National Museum.
- Drive to the Chari-Baguirmi region, South-East of N’Djamena.
- Meet the nomadic Arabs in Koundoul.
- Visit to the Chari River.
- Check out the valuable collection of the Sarh culture dating back to the 9th century.
- In the afternoon we continue to Gaoui. This village is said to have been the capital of Sao Civilization (a race of giants in local folklore), it is known for its traditional architecture and pottery made by local women.
- Airport drop off for evening flights out of N’Djamena.
