Mysterious and unknown, for many people these are the most common words to describe Saudi Arabia. For years the country was closed off to any form of tourism and foreigners were only allowed to come to work or to make a pilgrimage. This has changed since 2019, and curious tourists are slowly starting to visit the Kingdom. Join our tour and discover the famous cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, and less known places like Al Ula, Ha’il and Medina. Soon you will notice that it is a very hospitable country and that the people are curious and proud to be able to present their country to you.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Riyadh
- Arrival in the capital Riyadh, on this day an airport pick-up is included.
- At six o’clock you will meet the group at the hotel.
- Overnight stay in Riyadh.
Day 2 – Riyadh – Jebel Fihrayn
- Al Masmak Fort is an old mud brick fort. The fort was one of the most important places in the creation of present-day Saudi Arabia.
- Al Zal Souk – market has a wide variety of products for sale, a good place to get a real sense of the country.
- We’ll see Deera Square, also known as Chop Chop Square.
- We drive into the desert, outside Riyadh.
- Highlight: Arrival at Jebel Fihrayn, also known as The Edge of the World. A beautiful nature reserve (Jabal Tuwaiq) with large, deep ravines where you have an infinite view on the horizon. In the distance, you can see dry rivers and camels.
- Overnight stay in Riyadh.
Day 3 – Riyadh – Ushgayer – Buraidah
- The National Museum is the most important museum about the entire history of Saudi Arabia.
- Highlight: Kingdom Tower (the bottle opener), the most famous building in Riyadh.
- Drive to Al Turaif, this was the former capital of the Saudi dynasty from 1744 to 1818.
- Drive to Ushgayer.
- Highlight: Walk around the heritage village of Ushgayer. Here you’ll get an idea of life in Saudi Arabia around 100 years ago. You’ll see the small streets and squares, where locals still gather around for tea.
- We continue our drive to Buraidah.
- Overnight stay in Buraidah.
Day 4 – Buraidah – Ha’il
- Highlight: Early wake up, as we head for the famous Camel Market. It’s the largest camel market in the world and truly a unique experience.
- We continue our drive through the desert to Ha’il.
- We’ll explore A’arif Fort, originally built to protect the city.
- We head towards Jabal Al Samra Park, from here we’ll have a fantastic view of Ha’il.
- Overnight stay in Ha’il.
Day 5 – Ha’il – Al Ula
- We begin the 4-hour drive towards Al Ula.
- Upon arrival in Al Ula, we’ll start with the sights around the area.
- Visit Dedan, Ikma Mountain, one of the most important archaeological sites in the area and known as the largest ‘open library’.
- Discover two tombs, which are decorated with two carved lions.
- Highlight: See the Elephant Rock (Jabal Al-Fil).
- Watch the amazing sunset over the area.
- Overnight in a nearby farm, could be in the guest house with shared facilities or camping.
Day 6 – Al Ula – Maidan Saleh – Medina
- Highlight: Visit Madain Saleh (Hegra), the most famous landmark in Saudi Arabia. It looks similar to Petra in Jordan, as it was on the same caravan route.
- We return to the car and start our 3.5-hour drive towards Medina, the second holiest city in Islam.
- Overnight stay in Medina.
Day 7 – Medina – Jeddah
- We’ll visit the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, centrally located in Medina.
- Walk down Qiba Street, which connects the Holy Mosque and the Qiba Mosque, both are very important for Islam, the first place was the birthhouse and grave of the prophet Mohammed and the other place was the first mosque ever built.
- Explore Medina’s walking street, full of traditional shops and restaurants.
- We head to the train station for the high-speed train to Jeddah.
- Arrived in Jeddah, the most progressive city in the country.
- Highlight: Walk through old Jeddah (Al Balad). Here you will find beautiful, colorful houses reminiscent of the old times of Jeddah as a lively harbor town.
- Coral houses are the most colorful houses in the city. Unfortunately, they are not all in good condition anymore.
- See the first school and first hotel in Saudi Arabia.
- Overnight stay in Jeddah.
Day 8 – Jeddah
- Airport drop off.
- End of the tour.
