Welcome to our 4-day tour of Gabon, where we’ll guide you through unforgettable experiences amidst stunning natural landscapes and historical wonders. Beginning in Libreville, we’ll explore vibrant markets and iconic landmarks like the Stele of Freedom. Our journey continues to Lambarene, where we will visit Albert Schweitzer’s hospital and witness a Bwiti ceremony. Afterward, we’ll take a safari on Lake Onague, where we might spot some hippos. Lastly, we’ll conclude our adventure in Pongara National Park, with the chance to witness nesting turtles. Join us for this captivating exploration of Gabon’s beauty and diversity!

Itinerary
Day 1 – Libreville
- Morning arrival in Libreville, the capital of Gabon with an airport pick up. Libreville is the capital and largest city of Gabon, located on the country’s western coast along the Atlantic Ocean. It is known for its vibrant cultural scene, lush greenery, and stunning beaches.
- Overnight stay in Libreville
Day 2 – Libreville – Pongara National Park
- After breakfast we drive to the quay.
- We’ll board a boat for a 45-minute crossing to Pongara National Park. Pongara National Park is a tranquil mix of forest, savannah and ocean shore.
- Highlight: Upon arrival, settle into the peaceful Pongara Lodge before heading out on a 4×4 safari through the park.
- To finish off the day we will be taking a boat to Pongara National Park. If lucky we will be able to observe turtles nesting on the shores.
- Overnight stay at Pongara National Park.
Day 3 – Pongara National Park – Libreville – Okolassi
- Spend the morning enjoying the natural surroundings of Pongara.
- Hike through the coastal forest.
- Kayak along the mangroves.
- Walk and relax on the quiet beaches
- Later in the afternoon we return by boat to Libreville. After check-in at the hotel and dinner, we’ll travel to a nearby village.
- Highlight: Join a traditional 3-hour Bwiti ceremony in Okolassi village. This spiritual ritual is deeply rooted in Gabonese culture and offers insight into the country’s ancestral traditions.
- Overnight stay in Libreville.
Day 4 – Libreville
- After breakfast we will explore the city by going to the Mont Bouet Market, Gabon’s largest market.
- Enjoy a city tour of Libreville. See sights such as the Stele of Freedom statue and the Presidential Palace symbolising political significance and modern architecture.
- Transfer to the airport.
- End of tour.
