Itinerary

Day 1 – Malabo

  • Arrival at Malabo International Airport.
  • Meet up with your local guide and transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Malabo.

Day 2 – Malabo

  • Highlight: Today we’ll go on a guided city tour through Malabo with some of the following sights.
  • We’ll visit the exterior of the Cathedral of Santa Isabel and the Presidential Palace.
  • Explore the local markets and cultural centers to discover daily life in the city.
  • We’ll enjoy some lunch at a local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon we’ll visit the Sampaka cacao farm, to learn about cacao production and its historical importance.
  • Overnight stay in Malabo.

Day 3 – Malabo – Basile Peak – Bubi Community – Riaba – Malabo

  • Highlight: This morning we’ll drive to the top of Basile Peak for a great view of the island. Pico Basilé is the tallest mountain in Equatorial Guinea (3,011m) and part of the three overlapping volcanoes that make up the island.
  • Highlight: We’ll visit the Bubi community learning about their traditions and way of life.
  • We continue to Riaba, a beautiful town surrounded by green landscapes.
  • After lunch we will visit Hacienda Marcos Obiang, a historic plantation estate.
  • Afterwards we’ll return to Malabo.
  • Overnight stay in Malabo.

Day 4 – Malabo – Bata 

  • This morning we’ll transfer to the airport for our flight to Bata.
  • Highlight: After we’ve checked in at the hotel, we’ll go on a guided city tour with the following sights.
  • We’ll visit Independence square.
  • Enjoy a walk over the Bata seafront promenade.
  • We’ll visit several historical and cultural sites that highlight the city’s colonial past.
  • Overnight stay in Bata.

Day 5 – Bata – Djibloho – Oyala – Mongomo – Bata

  • This morning we’ll drive to Djibloho and discover the area.
  • Afterwards we’ll drive to Oyala, the country’s modern administrative capital.
  • Highlight: Visit the Grand Mosque of Mongomo, one of Africa’s largest mosques.
  • We’ll enjoy some lunch at a local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon we’ll return to Bata.
  • Overnight stay in Bata.

Day 6 – Bata – Utonde – Bata – Malabo

  • This morning we’ll drive to Utonde, known for its pristine beaches and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Highlight: We’ll explore nearby coastal villages for an authentic cultural experience.
  • We’ll enjoy a seafood lunch by the beach.
  • In the afternoon we’ll return to Bata for an evening flight to Malabo.
  • Overnight stay in Malabo.

Day 7 – Malabo – Luba – Batete – Eureka Waterfalls – Malabo

  • After breakfast we’ll drive to Arena Blanca Beach.
  • Have some free time to relax at the beach.
  • Optional: Enjoy some water activities like snorkeling or surfing.
  • Afterwards we’ll visit Luba, the second-largest city on Bioko Island.
  • Highlight: We’ll continue to Batete, a charming village known for its cultural significance and home to Equatorial Guinea’s only wooden church.
  • Take some time to stroll through the town.
  • Highlight: Afterwards we’ll visit the Ureka Waterfalls, one of the most impressive natural landmarks in Equatorial Guinea.
  • In the evening we’ll return to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Malabo.

Day 8 – Malabo

  • Drop-off at the airport.
  • End of the tour.
