Day 1 – Douala
Arrival in Douala, the economic capital and largest city of Cameroon. Meet your local guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity for a short introduction to the city, known for its lively atmosphere, busy port, colonial remnants and vibrant street life along the Wouri River.

Day 2 – Douala – Dschang
Depart early towards western Cameroon, passing through the fertile Djombé-Penja plains, an important agricultural region known for banana, pineapple, cocoa, coffee and pepper plantations.
Continue to the spectacular Ekom Nkam Waterfalls, one of Cameroon’s most famous natural sites. The falls drop around 80 metres into dense rainforest and became internationally known after appearing in the 1984 film Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
After exploring the waterfalls and surrounding forest scenery, continue into the cooler highlands towards Dschang. Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills, volcanic landscapes and coffee-growing areas.
Overnight in a hotel in Dschang.
Day 3 – Dschang – Foumban – Bandjoun
This morning, explore Dschang, a pleasant highland town once popular with French colonial administrators because of its cooler climate. If time allows, visit the Museum of Civilizations, which offers an introduction to the cultures and kingdoms of western Cameroon.
Continue to Foumban, the historic capital of the Bamoun Kingdom and one of Cameroon’s most important cultural centres. Visit the Royal Palace and Museum of the Sultanate, where the history of the Bamoun kings, traditional art and the famous Bamoun script are showcased. The current palace dates back to 1917 and remains the residence of the Sultan today.
Walk through the artisans’ quarter, where woodcarvers, bronze casters, embroiderers and blacksmiths continue long-standing artistic traditions.
Later, continue via Bafoussam to Bandjoun, one of the most important traditional chiefdoms in the Bamileke region. Visit the Bandjoun Chiefdom and its museum to learn more about the region’s royal traditions and architecture.
Overnight in a hotel in Bandjoun.
Day 4 – Bandjoun – Yaoundé
Depart the western highlands and drive towards Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, built across a series of green hills.
Upon arrival, begin a city tour visiting some of the capital’s main landmarks, including the Independence Monument and Reunification Monument, which symbolises the reunification of British and French Cameroon, and the Our Lady of Victories Cathedral. Drive along Kennedy Avenue, one of the city’s busiest commercial districts, and explore parts of the administrative and governmental centre.
Depending on timing, there may also be the option to visit the National Museum or enjoy panoramic views over the city from Mont Fébé.
Overnight in a hotel in Yaoundé.
