Itinerary
Day 1 – Caracas
- Our guide will be waiting for you on arrival at Caracas airport.
- Highlight: We will visit the ‘Eternal Commander’ Hugo Chavez Mausoleum in Cuartel de la Montaña. His mausoleum is located in one of the socialist districts of the city.
- El Calvario Park, one of the best parks in Caracas and a perfect way to mingle with the locals.
- Highlight: Walk through the historic city centre, along the way we pass places like:
- Simon Bolivar Museum, the most important museum about the life of Simon Bolivar.
- National Pantheon, this is Simon Bolivar’s mausoleum.
- Simon Bolivar’s birth house.
- Plaza Bolivar, the central square of Caracas.
- Cathedral.
- Town hall of Caracas.
- National Assembly, one of the most important government buildings.
- San Francisco Church.
- Overnight stay in Caracas.
Day 2 – Caracas – Galipan
- Walk along the Sabana Grande Boulevard. This used to be the main shopping street of Caracas.
- Plaza Altamira, where there have been many anti-government protests in recent years.
- Highlight: We take the Avila National Park Televirico cable car. This is a cable car ride like no other, you go slowly up the mountain where you have an incredible overview of Caracas.
- Walk past Avila Mágica in the village of Galipan. This area is a famous weekend trip for the locals as the air here is much cooler. Next to the road you will find several souvenir and food stalls.
- Highlight: We take a walk through the 23 Onero neighbourhood. This socialist neighbourhood was a stronghold of socialism during the Chavez era. Our guide explains exactly what this meant for the local population.
- Overnight stay in Caracas.
Day 3 – Caracas
- Depending on your departure time we will visit other places in the capital.
- Airport drop off.
- End of tour.
