Itinerary

Day 1 – Tehran

  • Arrival in Tehran, the capital of Iran. 
  • Meet the guide who will help you with exchanging money. 
  • Highlight: We start the city tour with a visit to Golestan Palace. This UNESCO heritage site is the formal royal Qajar complex. 
  • Visit the Azadi Tower, a landmark in Tehran and around 45m high. 
  • We pay a visit to the Treasury of the National Jewels Museum, one of the best jewelry museums in the world.   
  • Overnight stay in Tehran. 

Day 2 – Tehran – Shiraz 

  • We take a morning flight to Shiraz, the cultural rich city of literature, music and love.
  • Visit the Arg of Karim Khan (Zand Castle), this old fort is right in the middle of Shiraz.
  • Walking tour of the souk in Shiraz.
  • Highlight: We visit the thombs of Sa’adi and Hafez. Especially the poems of Hafez are still very popular in Iran.
  • Eram Garden, a place where many locals come to relax. 
  • Overnight stay in Shiraz. 

Day 3 – Shiraz 

  • Highlight: See the well-known Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, famously known as the Pink Mosque. Here you’ll see stained glass which gives the mosque a special color. 
  • Visit the Vakil Mosque. 
  • See the impressive Shahcheragh Holy Shrine, with its many mirrors one of the best shrines in the country. 
  • Jame Old Mosque, with its impressive mosaics. 
  • See the Jahan Nama Garden.
  • Highlight: We finish the day with a visit to the Pink Lake, just outside Shiraz. 
  • Overnight stay in Shiraz. 

Day 4 – Shiraz – Yazd

  • We leave Shiraz and head for Yazd, in the middle of the desert. 
  • Highlight: First stop is Persepolis & Necropolis (UNESCO-site). This was the main capital of the Achaemenid Empire.
  • Later on we stop at the Pasargadae, this was the first capital of the Achaemenid Empire.
  • We continue our drive to Yazd.
  • Highlight: Arrival in Yazd. The beautiful desert town of Yazd is a world apart from the other cities. Especially the old town has a magical feeling with its forest of wind towers. 
  • Overnight stay in Yazd.

Day 5 – Yazd 

  • We visit the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, located at the central square of Yazd.
  • Learn about the wind and water towers, at the Water Museum. 
  • Visit the historical Dolatabaad Garden. 
  • See the Tower of Silence, the Zoroastrians believed that dead bodies should not be buried so they left them here for vultures. 
  • Fire Temple, the place where Zoroastrians practiced their religion. 
  • Overnight stay in Yazd. 

Day 6 – Yazd – Isfahan 

  • Today we have a long drive to Isfahan.
  • A quick stop at an old caravanserai. 
  • See the Kabootar Dovecote (Pigeon Tower) and Meybod Ice House in the city of Meybod. 
  • Visit the Zoroastrian Pilgrimage Site of Chakchak.
  • Visit the Nain Jame Old Mosque, one of the oldest ones in Iran. 
  • Arrival in Isfahan.

Day 7 – Isfahan 

  • For many visitors, Isfahan is one of the highlights of Iran, one of the cultural richest cities in Iran. 
  • Highlight: We visit the world-famous Imam Square, it’s the biggest closed-off square in the world. 
  • See the Ali Qapu Palace & Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, located at the square. 
  • We visit the Chehel Sotun Palace, a UNESCO site located in the center. 
  • Walk over the Khaju and Siosepol bridges, here locals gather together for tea and good conversations. 
  • Overnight stay in Isfahan. 

Day 8 – Isfahan 

  • Visit the Museum of the Vank Cathedral. 
  • Highlight: We take the car and drive to Abiyaneh, also known as the red village. It’s very touristy with locals, but still an impressive sight. 
  • We continue our drive to Kashan. 
  • Overnight stay in Kashan. 

Day 9 – Kashan – Tehran

  • Visit the Fin Garden, a place where many locals come together during the weekends. 
  • Highlight: Birujedi House, an incredible house from 1857. 
  • Agha Bozorg Mosque, a famous historical mosque. 
  • Walk around the old bazaar. 
  • Continue driving to Tehran.
  • Overnight stay in Tehran. 

Day 10 – Tehran

  • End of the tour. 
  • Airport drop off.
