Start the new year like nowhere else in the world! Join our special New Year’s Eve Tour and witness spectacular fireworks and a special New Year’s Eve dinner. Of course we’ll also visit all the famous spots in and around Pyongyang and the DMZ. Is it possible to start off the new year in a better way? We don’t think so!

Itinerary

28 December – Beijing

  • Meet & greet your guide and group in Beijing.
  • 5:25 p.m. Departure by overnight train to Pyongyang.

29 December – Pyongyang

  • 7:00 a.m. arrival border China / North Korea (Dandong / Sinuiju).
  • Departure for those choosing to fly from Beijing, arrival in Pyongyang at 4 p.m.
  • 6:30 p.m. train passengers arrive in Pyongyang.
  • Guided tour of the hotel and introduction to your Korean guides.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the Sosan Hotel.

30 December – Pyongyang – Kaesong / DMZ – Sariwon

  • Drive to Kaesong, near the border with South Korea.
  • Koryo Museum, a UNESCO site.
  • Highlight: Panmunjon DMZ, the border with South Korea.
  • Thongil Restaurant, where you can optionally eat dog soup.
  • Ride to Sariwon.
  • Folkcustom Park, here you have a beautiful view over Sariwon.
  • Try the local drink makkoli (optional).
  • Drive to Pyongyang.
  • Monument of the Three Charters of National Reunification, an imposing structure across the highway.
  • Overnight stay at the Sosan Hotel.

31 December – Pyongyang – NEW YEAR’S EVE

  • Mansudae Fountain Park.
  • Mansudae Grand Monument, the statues of the great leaders.
  • Foreign Language Bookshop, the best place to buy books about North Korea.
  • Kim Il Sung Square, the famous square of Pyongyang.
  • Grand People’s Study House, Pyongyang’s main library.
  • Ride the Pyongyang Metro.
  • Arch of Triumph, a similar triumphal arch as in Paris.
  • Juche Tower (€ 5 to the top), tower in honour of the Juche ideology.
  • Visit a local department store.
  • Special New Year’s Eve dinner, including singing service.
  • Highlight: Celebrating New Year’s Eve at Kim Il Sung Square.
  • Overnight stay at the Sosan Hotel.

1 January – Pyongyang

  • Highlight: Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, this is the mausoleum of the great leaders.
  • Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery, many important soldiers are buried here.
  • Party Foundation Monument, the famous building with the hammer, sickle and calligraphy brush.
  • Korean War Museum, during the tour you will learn more about the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War.
  • USS Pueblo, the American ship captured during the war.
  • Mansudae Art Studio, this is where the local propaganda is made.
  • Gold Lane Bowling (optional bowling), the most famous bowling alley in Pyongyang.
  • Visit a local department store.
  • Overnight stay at the Sosan Hotel.

2 January – Pyongyang

  • 10:10 a.m. train takers depart from Pyongyang via Dandong to Beijing.
  • 10:30 a.m. flight takers depart from Pyongyang (arrival 11:30 a.m. in Beijing).

3 January – Beijing

  • 9:00 a.m. arrival in Beijing, end of tour.
